HISTORY: WRESTLEMANIA 23 - APRIL 1ST, 2007

Battle of the Billionaires (w/ Stone Cold Steve Austin as the special guest referee)
Umaga (w/ Vince McMahon) vs. ECW Champion Bobby Lashley (w/ Donald Trump)

Shane came to ringside to make sure Vince was okay. Meanwhile, Umaga caught Lashley with an uppercut and placed him in the corner. He dug his fingers into Lashley’s face, so Austin grabbed him by the hair again. Shane hopped on the apron in protest. Austin tended to him, but then got blasted with the Samoan Spike from Umaga. Shane came in the ring and went after Lashley. Bobby turned the tables on Shane and tried to give him a belly-to-belly suplex, but Umaga intervened, set him up in the corner, and gave him a running rear splash (w/ some assistance from Shane). Vince then handed Shane a trash can. Shane went to the perpendicular corner and gave Lashley a coast-to-coast! Shane then proceeded to take off his outer shirt and reveal a ref’s shirt beneath. Umaga went to the top and splashed Lashley. Shane tried to count the three, but Austin dragged him out of the ring and beat him down. As Austin returned to the ring, Umaga punched him right between the eyes. Vince slapped a fallen Austin, so Trump tackled the chairman to the delight of the crowd. Umaga, meanwhile, went for the Samoan Spike on Austin, but Stone Cold countered and hit the Stunner! Lashley followed with a spear and pinned Umaga to score the win. After the match, Shane attacked Austin but Austin easily destroyed Shane with classic Rattlesnake offense including a stunner.

SHANE MAY WORK WITH UFC AS AN EMPLOYEE, NOT AN INVESTOR
Below is an excerpt from a story at FightLine.com about Shane and UFC:

Shane McMahon is a big MMA fan, and at one point in time had talks with PRIDE about purchasing the company before PRIDE sold to Zuffa. Apparently the deal was dead despite the McMahons' having enough money to purchase the organization due to Vince McMahon's lack of interest in MMA.

It appears that if Shane McMahon were to work with the UFC, it would be as an employee and not as an investor. McMahon would likely help the UFC expand internationally.

The full story can be read here.

This is just my own speculation, but I find it interesting that there was this rumor of Shane likely helping the UFC expand internationally shortly before they announced that they will be heading to Australia for the first time to hold UFC 110 in Sydney in February. That can be read about here.

HISTORY: SUMMERSLAM - AUGUST 27TH, 2000

Michael Cole interviews Shane McMahon in the back. Shane leaves abruptly because he sees Steve Blackman walking up. Later Shane is warming up backstage when Lilian Garcia approaches him for another interview, once again Blackman approaches and Shane runs off as his entrance music begins to play, making his way out to the ring.

Hardcore Title Match: Steve Blackman vs. Shane McMahon
Blackman had the advantage until midway through the match, wearing Shane out with a trash can lid and putting the whole trash can over him before hitting it with sticks and knocking him down with a martial arts kick. He put a leather strap around Shane's neck and jerked him off the top rope before getting him into position on the mat and beginning to choke him with the strap, before Albert and Test came out to make the save and began double-teaming Blackman. The fight moved back up the entrance way and continued until Blackman managed to take out both Test and Albert, then Shane ran and began to climb up the side of the Titan Tron. Blackman climbed up after him and started striking Shane with a kendo stick, the third shot causing Shane to fall off backwards and crash land below. Blackman then jumped off and landed an elbow drop on Shane's prone body before throwing an arm over and pinning him to win back the Hardcore title.

HISTORY: RAW - NOVEMBER 29TH, 1999

Triple H vs. Test was next, with a referee wearing a Vince McMahon mask calling the action. "The Game" controlled Test for a good deal of the bout, concentrating on his opponent's injured nose. The ref seemed to be firmly behind Test, even helping the groom-to-be out of a sleeperhold. Test finally countered with a gut-wrench powerbomb and a sidewalk slam. Hunter then lured Test to the outside, bashing him on the announce table. Once back inside the ring, Triple H attempted to whack Test with a steel chair, but he was stopped by the ref. "The Game" had Test pinned, but the ref would not count. When Hunter attempted to unveil the mystery man, Shane McMahon rushed to the ring to pound "The Game" with a chair, allowing Test to secure the win.

Test and the groomsmen are shown in the back. Then the time had come - the wedding was about to take place. The bridesmaids and their escorts made their way to the ring. Matron of Honor Linda McMahon was escorted by Shane. Then, Test walked to ringside. Vince escorted the bride to the ring to give her away. When the minister asked if anyone objected, Triple H came out.

He plays a clip showing himself in a car in Las Vegas, driving into a wedding chapel on the Vegas Strip. As he drove up to a window to get married, we saw his bride to be - a sedated Stephanie McMahon! Triple H said the vows for both him and Stephanie, put a ring on her finger, and said "I do." They were married! Stephanie had been knocked out by the drink she was offered earlier at her party. Triple H and Steph drove away in the wedding vehicle. Back in the ring, Stephanie cried and Test ran after Hunter as Vince comforted his daughter.

MORE NEWS ON SHANE AND UFC
There are rumors that Shane McMahon has sold "$50-$80 million dollars" worth of WWE stock so that he can buy into the UFC. That is not the case. Back in July he sold a minor amount of his stock, but he has made no sales since according to the WWE SEC Filing Page. Since Shane is an officer of the company, the WWE would have to report any sales of stock that he makes.

THE LATEST ON SHANE AND UFC
As noted before, Shane McMahon recently met with UFC officials in Las Vegas for an exploratory meeting. As far as we know, nothing was signed and nothing happened that would result in negotiations being broken off. Within WWE, both on the creative and talent sides, it's believed that Shane will end up with UFC eventually. It's possible that Shane may do something with UFC like he did with WWE as the President of Global Media and help UFC expand internationally.

A good friend of Shane's and former President of WWE Canada, Carl DeMarco, also met with UFC officials separately last week. Sources within WWE speculate that Shane and Carl may end up going to UFC as a package.
