WWE ANNOUNCE NEW EXECUTIVE VICE-PRESIDENT
World Wrestling Entertainment has announced that Andrew Whitaker will take on additional responsibilities and head up WWE International effective immediately. Whittaker, who has been with WWE since 1987, has already been instrumental in WWE's international strategy but takes on additional responsibilities after Executive Vice-President of Global Media Shane McMahon resigned at the end of last year.
Mike Tyson is scheduled to be guest host of Raw on Monday in Minneapolis. A WWE source today noted that someone new will have to be the point-person in dealing with Tyson because of the departure of Shane McMahon from WWE.
McMahon used to always be the person who would deal with the boxing celebrities, including Floyd Mayweather and, going way back, Tyson during his pivotal role on Raw in the late-'90s. Shane liked to hob-nob with the Tyson-type celebrities and put them at ease while helping guide them for their role on the show. He was good working with sports celebrities with their egos and entourages and all that comes with them. This source doesn't see anyone else in WWE who can come close to Shane's set of skills in working with someone like Tyson and his people.
Dana White recently said that Shane McMahon was looking to do some consulting work for UFC but did not know if they would make a deal. Apparently Shane, through intermediary and former WWE employee Carl DeMarco, has been looking at getting involved with the Strikeforce MMA promotion.
Shane McMahon and Hulk Hogan were reportedly at last night's UFC 108 pay-per-view in Las Vegas. Hogan was there to hang out and get some last minute buzz for iMPACT on Monday. The buzz was that Shane McMahon was there to try to get people talking about him coming in but sources say he won't be signing a deal or anything soon, if ever.

According to correspondent reports, Hulk Hogan and Shane McMahon are both in Las Vegas for Saturday's UFC 108: Evans vs. Silva pay-per-view.
In the case of Hogan, he would presumably be working to drum up a final bit of publicity for Monday's TNA special. In the case of McMahon, sources believe he is trying to get people buzzing about a jump to UFC.
Officially resigned from WWE, McMahon is reportedly hoping to generate publicity for a potential crossover to UFC despite not having any imminent plans to join the leading mixed martial arts group.
