VINTAGE COLLECTION - RAW APRIL 17TH 2000
This week's episode of Vintage Collection included a clip from Raw on April 17th 2000 where Chris Jericho challenged Triple H for the World Heavyweight Title, with both Shane and Stephanie in Triple H's corner and at ringside for the match. I've done some captures and also uploaded the video of the segment. :)

The World Wrestling Federation Championship was on the line early-on this week on RAW when Chris Jericho challenged Triple H for the title. Prior to the match, Y2J took over where he left off last week, making fun of Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. Also before the match got under way, Jericho told Triple H that the Acolytes would be in his corner. In Triple H's corner was his wife and her brother, Shane. The champ's focus seemed to be elsewhere in the early going, as Jericho assaulted Triple H - several times nearly walking away with the Championship. Finally when it appeared as though Jericho would have Hunter's number, the assigned referee Mike Chioda was knocked out. Senior referee Earl Hebner then came down and finished the officiating duties. Hebner and Triple H got into a push and shove, Jericho then took advantage and hit Triple H with a moonsault before Hebner did a fast count allowing Jericho to score the pinfall and capture the championship.

After the commercial break, Triple H, Stephanie and Shane physically brought Earl Hebner into the ring. Triple H also brought in the originally assigned referee, Mike Chioda. Triple H then asked for Chioda's professional opinion. Chioda responded, saying that Hebner screwed Triple H. Hebner then said that he would reverse the decision if Triple H promised never to lay another hand on him as long as he was a WWF referee. As soon as Triple H was given the Championship back he told Hebner that he was fired, then Triple H and Shane assaulted Hebner before the rest of the referees came to the ring and broke it up.

Also I found this video on YouTube and thought I'd share for those who haven't seen it - it's the dark match from after Raw on April 27th, 2009 where Shane teamed with Batista against Edge and Randy Orton. I was at the show that night and Shane wasn't originally scheduled for the dark match so it was a nice surprise to see him come out. :) Enjoy!

VINCE RUSSO TALKS ABOUT SHANE
Vince Russo did an interview on Monday Night Mayhem Radio on February 1st, the subject of him working for the WWE in 2002 was brought up and he spoke about the McMahons, below is the Shane-related excerpt from the interview recap - the question asked was whether Shane would have been a better choice than Stephanie to be head of creative.

Host asks if Shane McMahon would have been a better choice. Russo says he doesn't think so because he spent a lot of time with Shane, and there wasn't that creative mind. On the other hand, when you talk about heart, soul, energy, passion and excitement, that was what Shane McMahon added to the WWF when Russo was there, he says. Russo says Shane McMahon was one of the top five characters in the history of the WWF - passion to do anything in the comapny. Russo says that was the fire Shane McMahon brought - WWF was in Shane's blood and he would have done anything for the brand. Russo doesn't know what happened but they lost a lot of emotion, he feels, when they lost Shane.

The full interview recap can be read here.

BOBBY LASHLEY TALKS ABOUT SHANE IN AN INTERVIEW
In a recent interview with FightScoops.com, Bobby Lashley was asked what he thought about the idea of Shane getting into the MMA world with Strikeforce or UFC. He said Shane is a big fight fan and has a lot of respect for the sport, and would also bring a lot of benefit to it because he's been there firsthand with the WWE, so whatever organisation he goes with he's going to make it bigger and better. He also said Shane is a genius when it comes to the entertainment, so if he comes to MMA it will only be a positive.

You can watch the interview below or on YouTube here. He's asked the question about Shane at around 5:07.

HISTORY: SURVIVOR SERIES - NOVEMBER 18TH, 2007

Hornswoggle vs The Great Khali
The largest mismatch in WWE history saw The Great Khali taking on Hornswoggle in a match made by Hornswoggle’s father, Mr. McMahon. With his father building up his confidence all night and his half-brother Shane making a surprise appearance, the fired up illegitimate son of the Chairman entered the ring for the contest and came face-to-leg with the dominant Khali once more, crushing any ego boosts provided by the unified McMahons.

Overpowered and undersized, Hornswoggle showed his heart was bigger than his stature as he braved the gigantic task at Survivor Series. With the red-hot Miami crowd firmly behind him, Hornswoggle did all he could to avoid the clutches of Khali, but the Punjab Giant had a point to prove, and when he finally grabbed hold of the mini-sized McMahon, it appeared that the match and Hornswoggle’s tenure in a WWE ring would come to a Vise-Gripped end.

To the surprise of our fans and Hornswoggle himself, the leprechaun’s longtime “friend” Finlay made his way to the ring wielding the shillelagh, and he systematically destroyed Khali before leaving the American Airlines Arena with the bastard son of Mr. McMahon in tow.

BIG SHOW SPEAKS ABOUT SHANE IN AN INTERVIEW
In an interview with The Sun, Big Show had some interesting and kind words to say about Shane, here is the excerpt:

As well as being a main event star in the ring, Show is a locker room leader outside and formed a close relationship with Shane McMahon. He was as shocked as anyone when Vince's son shockingly quit the business, leaving WWE on January 1, but is sure his pal will succeed in whatever he does next.

He said: "Shane is a lot like his dad. Vince struck away from his dad and ended up buying him out. Shane is the type that wants to follow his own path and he is going to do fine.

"I don't see Shane starting up a rival wrestling company, but he wanted to do some Mixed Martial Arts thing then maybe. If Shane wanted to work on a production company for movies then that can happen too.

"Shane is a very charismatic, intelligent man, a very driven person, so whatever avenue he chooses to go into he is going to be very successful at it. He cant ask for anymore than that."

Show added: "We all work together and there are a lot of guys that really love him and he loves them too. But we are business men and grown men too.

"There comes a time where every man has to make a decision for himself and his family and everyone respects that."
