RAW RESULTS - MARCH 30TH 2009

Digital Photos

Accompanied by Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase and a group of security guards, Randy Orton came to the ring for his special WrestleMania address. While describing his reprehensible actions in recent months (punting Mr. McMahon and Shane McMahon, attacking Triple H’s wife Stephanie on multiple occasions), The Legend Killer explained how every step of the way was part of a plan to destroy everything The Game cares about. He then began detailing how the balance of power in WWE would permanently shift in his favor following his WrestleMania win.

But before Orton could finish outlining his twisted vision of the future, a black limo arrived. Though the third-generation Superstar expected WWE Champion Triple H to make an appearance, calling Rhodes & DiBiase to his side, he was stunned by who accompanied him. Joining The Game on the stage were Mr. McMahon and his son, Shane. The three family members made their way down the ramp, where they collided with Orton and his “Legacy,” ending Raw in a massive, heated WrestleMania-bound brawl.

ANDRE THE GIANT BIOGRAPHY EXCERPTS
Shane was among those interviewed for the WWE biography 'Andre The Giant: A Legendary Life'. The book contains several quotes from Shane with some of his memories and thoughts about Andre.

"At one point I remember him drinking this Mexican whiskey that had fermented snakes in it. Not worms, snakes. I remember looking at it and being so freaked out. He offered to give me a drink of that Mexican whiskey, but I was like, 'No Way!' He knew I was scared to death when he offered it to me. But there were a few times where we had a couple of beers together. I didn't drink very much, so after a few beers, I was like 'Whoa.' He got a big laugh out of that - 'Ho, ho, ho, ho!' - because he knew I was wasted. He got a kick out of that. It was kind of a rite of passage. Andre got to drink with my grandfather, then my father, and then me, the kid. It was a very cool thing for both of us, I think."

"Andre was always so nice to me. My dad told me it's because he was shocked that I wasn't scared of him. Usually everyone was very afraid, just based on the sheer size of the man - he was very intimidating. But kids have no fear. So I got to know Andre, he was my buddy. I'd sit in the locker room when he was playing cards, things like that. I always told my dad that I was going to grow up and be Andre The Giant's tag team partner. I was going to grow up and be big like Andre, not small, like my dad."

HISTORY: WRESTLEMANIA 17

Street Fight: Shane McMahon vs Vince McMahon

Digital Photos | Captures

Shane dominated his father during the start of the match with attacks involving a Kendo stick and monitors from the Spanish announcers' table. Lying Vince on the table, Shane climbed back into the ring and attempted to perform a diving elbow drop off the top rope. His sister Stephanie moved Vince off the table, however, leaving Shane to crash into it. Trish Stratus came towards the ring, pushing Linda McMahon out on a wheelchair. Vince tried to embrace Trish, but she slapped him. In retaliation, Stephanie got into a fight with Trish that led them out of the stadium. With Linda alone, Vince approached her to the detestment of guest referee Mick Foley but the owner replies with a few chair shots. Dragging Linda into the ring and placing her on a chair, Vince forced her to watch him beat his son down a couple of times with a trash can. As he went for a third shot with the can, however, Linda stood up and kicked Vince between the legs. With Vince in the corner, Shane placed a garbage can in front of Vince's face and hit a Coast-to-Coast dropkick through it, before pinning his father to win the match. Afterwards, Shane slid out of the ring to embrace Linda, then took a final look back at Vince as he made his way back up the ramp.
