HISTORY: RAW - MARCH 12TH, 2001

Vince McMahon is in the ring with Trish Stratus, as he says he did promise an announcement and it relates to his wife Linda - No Chance In Hell starts to play again. He tells Shane to just give him a hug, but Shane decks him. Shane beats the hell out of Vince until William Regal comes down for the save. Shane beats the hell out of Regal instead. WHERE ARE THEY NOW? ROUNDING UP THE MEAN STREET POSSE

It’s not easy looking tough in a pair of khakis. Yet for a brief period in WWE history, the Mean Street Posse did just that.

Representing the “rough” streets of Greenwich, Conn., the Posse consisted of Rodney, Pete Gas and Joey Abs, three young men who were skyrocketed from relative obscurity to the forefront of the hottest show on cable television in the summer of 1999.

And it all began because of a childhood friendship between Rodney and WWE Executive VP, Global Media, Shane McMahon.

“I’ve known the kid since junior high when he came to Connecticut from the Cape,” Rodney said of his friendship with Shane. “We met Pete Gas in high school. From then on we were all pretty good friends.”

Before the trio ever caused havoc on Raw and SmackDown, they were a high school principal’s worst nightmare. They roughhoused on the high school football team, goofed off in Spanish class and raised hell on the weekends in Shane’s monstrous pickup truck.

“We were known for having a good time,” Pete Gas revealed. “I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad time with Shane.”

HISTORY: RAW - SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2003

Backstage, Terri caught up with Shane McMahon and asked about the whole situation with Kane not being seen after he fell into the burning dumpster last week. Shane said he hoped Kane was still burning.

Backstage, Austin tried to tell Shane to leave the building, for his own safety but Shane said if something was going down tonight, he wanted to be a part of it. Shane was also confronted by Vince who said he was concerned for Shane's safety. Shane blew off his dad and headed to the ring.

Shane hit the ring after the break and said if something was going down, let it happen. Shane waited and nothing happened until Eric Bischoff made his way out to the ring. Just as Bischoff was about to enter the ring, Kane's pyro went off and after the lights went up, there stood Kane in the ring behind Shane. Kane looked unharmed from falling into the fire last week, save for a few bandages on his arms. Kane tossed Shane out of the ring and threw him into the steps and then handcuffed him to the ringpost. Kane then trapped Shane's leg's with the ring steps and brought out a car battery and jumper cables. Kane attatched the cables to Shane's family jewels and "zapped" him a couple times until Rob Van Dam came out and plastered Kane across the back with a chair. RVD delivered another shot, this time to Kane's head. In the ring, RVD dropkicked the chair into Kane's face and finally finished the attack with a Van Daminator. Kane decided to leave as RVD tried to free Shane.

After the break, we were shown what happened during it and it was Shane being wheeled out on a stretcher.

IGN TV's TOP 20 SUMMERSLAM MATCHES
Thanks to Jen for bringing attention to this on IGN.com, they posted a list of their Top 20 Summerslam matches and Shane's match with Test at Summerslam 1999 made it onto the list at #13. :)

#13: Test vs. Shane McMahon - "Love Her or Leave Her" Greenwich Street Fight (1999)
We've gotten to the point, nowadays, where watching Shane McMahon dive off the top rope and fall through tables is commonplace and cheap. Once upon a time however, we were amazed at the bumps that this heir apparent would take for the business. Shane was never going to wow us with an in-ring wristlock clinic, but the dude quickly cornered the market in insane hardcore brawling.

When Test got down on bended knee and proposed to the then innocent Stephanie, her brother and his band of sweater-vested hooligans, The Mean Street Posse, objected slightly somewhat. This led to a match with the virginal Stephanie on the line! Love or family! Which would win out?

From a storyline aspect, this match marked the pinnacle of the late Andrew "Test" Martin's relevance. From a real-life sexual conquest standpoint however, Martin will always be super-relevant and highly admired. Sleeping with Stacy Keibler basically certifies your status as a giant in the industry. Which industry? Any industry.
