HISTORY: RAW - MARCH 26TH, 2001

Vince McMahon comes to the ring to address his acquisition of WCW. He says the deal is not exactly final, but this Sunday on PPV at Wrestlemania he will sign the contract when Ted Turner himself walks down the aisle and delivers it to him. He says that he is going to reserve a seat for Ted Turner, cause he wants Ted to see what he does to his own son Shane. Vince says that you have to squeeze the life out of your competition just like he is going to do to Shane this Sunday. He says that in his corner will be Stephanie, Trish, and that Linda will be wheeled down to ringside. Vince says that WCW is going on the shelf and that it is buried, the crowd starts to chant and he gets angry and says that the fans will treat him with respect.

Shane's music hits, but he doesn't come to the ring, instead he is revealed to be in Florida on Nitro. Shane says that Vince's ego has gotten the best of him. Shane says that Vince wanted to finalize the deal at Wrestlemania, and that was just the opportunity that he was looking for. Shane says that the contract has been finalized, and the name on the contract does say McMahon, however the contract reads Shane McMahon. While Vince looks on with a shocked expression on his face, Shane declares himself the new owner of WCW, and says that just like WCW kicked Vince's ass in the past, it will again, just like what is going to happen to him at Wrestlemania.

Shane McMahon is shown walking towards the ring with a clipboard in hand.

No Chance plays and Shane McMahon comes to the ring. Shane says people always ask him what it's like to be Vince McMahon's son. Quite honestly, it's been unbelievable. When they were little kids on the playground, kids used to say my father can kick the crap out of your father. Shane used to say my father can kick the crap out of, humiliate, embarass and buy your dad fifty times over. Shane says he grew up watching his dad doing what he wants to do and Shane's been there side by side every step of the way until recently. Stone Cold, Rock, Mick Foley or even Billionaire Ted Turner couldn't stop Vince. There comes a time when things do have to stop and it didn't dawn on him until the other night when Vince did an interview with Bob Costas. Vince asked Bob if he wanted to play. Shane's question to Vince is "Do you want to play? Do you want to play with me?" In Shane's hand is a contract for them to play on the biggest playground in the industry. Shane challenges Vince to a match at Wrestlemania. If Vince has the grapefruits, he'll come down to accept the challenge. After Wrestlemania, people are going to be asking Vince what it's like to be Shane's father.

Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley comes out instead of Vince. Steph takes the mic and tells Shane he really doesn't want to do this. She asks if their family has enough problems as it is. Steph says she knows Shane is upset about mom. Steph asks if Shane understands that Dad is doing this because he loves them. She tells Shane to rip up that contract. Steph tells Shane to think about the money, the inheritance, and everything they've been through. He's just going to throw it all away? They should be one happy family.

No Chance plays again and this time Vince McMahon and Trish Stratus come out.

HISTORY: SMACKDOWN - MARCH 15TH, 2001

Shane is standing by in the WWF studios in Stamford with Coach. Coach begins the interview by asking Shane where he's been. Shane says he's been focusing on the business that he was born into, the business that he loves, that's in his blood. He says growing up he's always tried to emulate his grandfather and his father. He says in a lot of ways he's exactly like his dad, and in a lot of ways he's not. And he's definitely not proud of what his father has been doing in the core part of the business - being what happens out in the ring, and he's embarassed to share his last name. He asks Coach how he would feel if his father dragged his mother out and belittled her. He asks how he would feel if his father manipulated his own daughter. He asks how it would make him feel if his own father put his mother in a sanatarium, and was having an affair with someone the age of his own daughter. What type of man is that? Shane says he blames himself and says he should've been there, he should have done something sooner. But sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, and himself being a man, he was standing up for what he believed in. He says he didn't know what he was going to do when he returned on Monday night, but with every step he took looking at his father he got angrier and angrier. He said his adrenaline was flowing and before he knew it he'd unleashed a fury of violence on his father. He says it made him sick to his stomach looking back on what he did. He says maybe he is like his father because he also took pleasure in it. He doesn't know what ramifications his father has in store for him, and he doesn't care, he ends the interview by stating that the relationship he has with his father is over.

MARCH 2000 RAW MAGAZINE SCANS/ARTICLES

I scanned a nice article on the Mean Street Posse from the March 2000 issue of Raw Magazine which includes a couple of cute high school shots of Shane. :)

I also scanned in the Shane pictures from the behind the scenes Linda McMahon interview in the same magazine. I'd previously transcribed that interview as it has a few mentions of Shane, so I've added the link below as well in case people would like to read it.

HELL'S HISTORY: TO HELL AND BACK
The Devil's Playground. Satan's structure. By any name, the Hell in a Cell Match is one of the most career-threatening contests in all of WWE. Its 16-foot walls have bloodied, its steel roof has maimed. To put it simply, the two-ton chamber is designed to hurt.

The match is so dangerous it has only been contested 16 times sinces its inception in 1997. WWE.com traces this hellish history from the fateful first encounter to its most recent incarnation at Summerslam 2008.

Sept. 17, 2006
Triple H & Shawn Michaels vs Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon & Big Show

Two years after they tore each other apart in a Hell in a Cell match, Triple H & Shawn Michaels reformed D-Generation X and made life miserable for the McMahon family. To get revenge on DX, Mr. McMahon recruited Big Show and challenged HBK & The Game to a brawl in Satan's playground. But in order to properly house The World's Largest Athlete, the older 16-foot structure had to be replaced by a 30-foot by 30-foot monstrosity. Inside this 3500-sq. foot metal torture chamber, DX defeated their three opponents - and stuffed Mr. McMahon's face in Big Show's butt to add insult to injury.
